Mônica V. Rodrigues
Mônica’s public policy practice is centered in diversity, equity, and inclusion. She believes that communities thrive when members of a community are informed and engaged.
As a global citizen, Mônica has called the international city of Miami Beach home over the past decade and through her work is grounded by a deep sense of responsible citizenship. With this perspective, she has led multilingual public awareness campaigns to bridge access to resources across health care, affordable housing, voting rights, gun reform and environmental justice. Mônica most recently led government relations and community affairs for one of the nation’s leading government affairs firms. She previously served as the Political Director for the Florida Democratic Party and dually led English and Spanish language communication strategies in 5 of the top 50 media markets for the nation’s largest consumer health advocacy organization, Enroll America. In partnership with her team, the coalition assisted 1.9 million Floridians accessing quality affordable healthcare through the Affordable Care Act during the first enrollment period.
In addition to her public service Mônica enjoys travel, linguistics, reading, art, music history and exploring new cultures through travel immersion. Monica is dedicated to social justice causes and is the co-founder of an environmental justice collective, Products of Our Environment. “I spend my downtime cultivating organic relationships to build community. Thank you for welcoming me to the team. As I proudly began my journey with Net Impact, I am excited to learn and build with you all!”
I grew up wanting to be: I grew up in a family of public servants and aspired to serve my community as an elected official.
The best advice I ever got was: Never forget the bridge that brought you over, so as you climb always be sure to send the elevator back down.
I need to relax, I: turn on a good playlist and dance.
