Associate- Member and Industry Relations
Inclusiv is the largest network of community development financial institutions (CDFI) with a mission to promote financial inclusion in low-income communities across the country. Inclusiv seeks an Associate- Member and Industry Relations to support the Director of Member and Industry Relations (“DMIR”) in two main areas a) membership and partner recruitment activities and strategies, and b) tracking and reporting the activities of business units to determine member engagement. In addition, the Associate will support the Director with partner relations, member renewals and general business development efforts.
The ideal candidate should live in the greater New York City area and be able to work on-site in the New York City office in compliance with Inclusiv’s hybrid work schedule (2 days in-office, 3 days remote).
Primary Responsibilities
Business development:
• Assist with efforts to maintain Inclusiv’s position as the credit union industry expert in the four enterprise goals: homeownership; small business; clean energy; financial inclusion and well-being.
• Follow up with leads for policy and associate membership as well as current and potential industry partners
• Develop and present status reports on penetration of targeted markets: CUs within CDFI zone; CDFI credit unions; Native American CUs; Minority-designated CUs.
• Work with the DMIR to engage Partners and credit union service providers to benefit our member credit unions.
• Assist with the development of promotional and communication materials for business development purposes. Information should be provided through all network channels: emails; website, and social media.
• Represent Inclusiv as required at public events to identify and actively recruit membership candidates as well as to represent the organization.
Membership Relations:
• Manage customer relationship management system (Salesforce) to inform team on how network members use Inclusiv services. Track use of system by Inclusiv staff and provide ongoing training and support to ensure full participation and regular data inputs. Pull reports and dashboards to better understand how different members use Inclusiv. Etc.
• Support member communication and track all aspects of their member journey from recruitment, onboarding to renewal.
• Track, analyze and generate regular reports on members data: trends, demographics, institution type (MDI, CDFI, JA, etc.), geographic representation, produce engagement score cards, and provide monthly high-level reports to senior management.
• Ensure that newly recruited member credit unions and partners have a clear understanding of Inclusiv’s advocacy priorities/position, as well as a general grasp of the programs, services, financial products, tools and solutions available.
• Work with supervisor and other Inclusiv units to develop and annual surveys and other mechanisms to measure member engagement/satisfaction.
• Coordinate with supervisor and other units to engage and educate members. This includes supporting Town Hall calls; coordinating/maintaining calendar of learning and sharing opportunities: webinars, round-table discussions, symposiums, and regional events; and mobilizing members to amplify our messaging in support of advocacy priorities.
• Assist with engaging members and provide credit union member relationship management support to DMIR. Facilitate Inclusiv Board Member engagement with members in Inclusiv’s 5 Regions.
• Connect members with appropriate Inclusiv programs/staff and be responsive to member inquiries.
Administrative/Operations:
• Support supervisor in all aspects of member renewal process.
• Coordinate with Technology, Data and CDFI teams to ensure accurate tracking of Member credit union activities, survey responses, and engagement with Inclusiv programs and events in Salesforce and by other means.
• Other duties as required/assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Commitment to Inclusiv’s mission to help low- and moderate-income people and communities achieve financial independence.
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
• Highly organized and detail oriented. Able to manage several projects simultaneously and ensure that no communications fall through the cracks.
• Commitment to delivering resources to benefit underserved and under resourced communities and individuals throughout the United States.
• Strong relationship-building skills and commitment to high-quality customer service.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including business correspondence, press releases, and informational e-blasts. Marketing or customer relationship management experience a plus.
• Knowledge of the credit union, banking, and/or community development industries are highly valued.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Salesforce, MailChimp, and/or WordPress a plus.
Salary: The salary range for this position starts at $67,000 annually. We will consider a higher salary for candidates with more experience.
