About the Role

The Advisor, Partner Success, assists departmental leadership on cross-functional transformation projects to improve and expand internal processes and services, and to increase organizational effectiveness to efficiently serve partners. They will also participate in Tides Center growth initiatives and building a partner communications infrastructure. 

In addition, as Tides Center grows the number of partners it serves, the Advisor will provide periodic flexible support to service teams working with partners, as needed, and should be adept at managing partner relationships. The Advisor is a strong internal advocate for partners, supporting them in navigating Tides systems and bringing their voice into process improvement and transformation projects.

What you will Do 

Department Support (60%)

  • Support department efforts to explore new or expanded services offered to partners.
  • Support proposal development as needed and based on areas of expertise and interest.
  • Support ongoing cross-department audits and partner compliance
  • Support the development and ongoing maintenance of a partner communications infrastructure
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to learn new skills that strengthen individual and departmental knowledge.
  • Support in the development of a strategy for creative engagement and exceptional service delivery that accelerates the impact of each partner and delivers a richer partner experience with support from the Tides team.
  • Support in the development and implementation of program feedback, evaluation, and tracking systems to measure and report on partners’ impact.
  • Support department team-building activities.
  • Participate in regular department meetings and activities. 

Business and Network Development (20%)

  • Participate in internal cross-functional initiatives that enhance the partner experience, address broader partner portfolio needs, or systemic change to partner service delivery at Tides.
  • Support emerging growth and business development opportunities in partnership with Strategic Partnerships, Tides Foundation, and service delivery teams
  • Support other special business development initiatives and duties as requested.

Partner Management (20%)

  • Provide high-quality strategic backfill support to partners as part of a cross-functional team that may include other advisors, Finance, HR, and other teams to support partners’ operational needs and Tides Center growth.
  • Serve as a strong internal voice to support partners in navigating Tides systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Resolve or escalate issues of concern as raised by partners or internal stakeholders in a timely and proactive manner. 
  • In partnership with finance staff, advise on organizational, fundraising, and budget planning, monitoring, and presenting budgets and cash flow. Provide accurate and timely financial statements to partners to inform partner’s grantmaking and investment activities.
  • Provide administrative guidance to achieve partner objectives.
  • Partner with the Tides Legal, Risk Management, and Compliance team to assess risk factors for partners’ activities, such as insurance, contracts, grants, advocacy, and lobbying,
  • Oversee contracts and grant management for assigned partner portfolio to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct partner onboarding and orientation as needed.
  • Identify upcoming partner transitions and ensure effective partner services throughout the process.
  • Maintain records/task management for portfolio
  • Schedule regular meetings with Partners and service teams to maintain a high standard of service.

What you will Bring 

  • Strong personal alignment with Tides' vision, mission, and approach.
  • 3 years of experience working in a social justice issue area including, but not limited to: Human Rights, Quality Education, Sustainable Environment, Healthy Individuals and Communities, and Economic Opportunity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to and appreciation for diverse viewpoints, different communication styles, and a wide range of diverse colleagues and partner partners.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience implementing integrated communications campaigns
  • Strong project management skills, high attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage, track, and understand basic financial management concepts.
  • Ability to hold themself accountable for high-quality, timely, and effective partner service.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, Salesforce, Fluxx, and NetSuite preferred. 

Ideal Experience 

  • B.A./B.S. or higher degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant and applicable work experience in nonprofit or social impact sector. Prior fiscal sponsorship, communications, and/or nonprofit compliance experience a plus.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Google Drive, Salesforce and NetSuite preferred

Compensation 

Tides is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. We value pay equity and account for factors such as your location within the U.S., your skills and your relevant experience, and we will not ask for your salary history. 

Your starting salary will fall into one of three ranges: 

● $72,000 - $90,000 (Most of the United States) 

● $78,600 - $98,300 (Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. metro areas) 

● $88,000 - $108,000 (New York City & San Francisco metro areas)
