Les Roches Green Club (now Net Impact Les Roches) has had a tradition over the years of hosting a Food Waste Competition - urging students at our school to think before they serve themselves and to avoid wasting food. This year we would like to take this competition global - which is where we came up with the idea for the Hard Core Club.

Almost 1/3 rd of edible food goes wasted each year - food that could have kept people from going hungry. We use an apple to represent this waste, most people just eat until the middle and throw away the core even though there is still plenty of apple left to be eaten. The membership requirement to the "Hard Core Club" is that you need to video eating the core of the apple as well - showing that you are against food waste. If you are able to eat the core you become an honorary member of the club and you can sign your name to our donation page and nominate friends and family to participate. If you cannot you must donate money to stopping hunger on Action Against Hunger's fundraising page https://my.actionagainsthunger.org/fundraise?fcid=582920

Hunger causes nearly half of all child deaths, but for the first time in history, game changing solutions are within our reach. Using ready-to-use therapeutic foods (RUTF), we can now treat children at home, and save lives at a scale never before imagined and Action Against Hunger is the one to deliver these ready-to-use foods with your help!
